Canada: CWB issued its Pool Return Outlook (PRO) for the 2006-07 crop year
The Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) released August 24 its Pool Return Outlook (PRO) for the 2006-07 crop year. The designated barley and Pool A feed barley PROs are up $5 per tonne, feed barley export values are expected to move higher.
Global malting barley values have continued to strengthen given concerns over dryness in Australia, disappointing EU-25 harvest results and the ongoing tight supply situation in the United States. Western Canadian barley production expectations have also declined due to dry weather over the past six weeks
The Special Select (SS) Canada Western (CW) Two-Row malting barley August PRO for 2006/07 PRO is CA$/t 179.00 and CA$/bushel 3.90 (CA$/t 174.00 and CA$/bushel 3.79 for July PRO 2006/07) in store Vancouver or St. Lawrence. The Standard Select Two-Row is respectively CA$/t 174.00 and CA$/bushel 3.79 (CA$/t 169.00 and CA$/bushel 3.68 for July PRO 2006/07). The Special Select (SS) Canada Western (CW) Six-Row August PRO for 2006/07 is CA$/t 173.00 and CA$/bushel 3.77 (CA$/t 168.00 and CA$/bushel 3.66 for July PRO 2006/07). The Standard Select Six-Row is respectively CA$/t 168.00 and CA$/bushel 3.66 (CA$/t 163.00 and CA$/bushel 3.55 for July PRO 2006/07).
