World: Malting barley production down 10% in 2005/06 crop year
Bids of malting barley are down 20% year-on-year, Deutsch analytical company Jochen Mautner Gmbh said September 08. This negative progress was mainly caused by the cutback of sown areas in counties responsible for the larges part of malting barley world production.
Considering this year’s particularly poor harvest, specialists speak of a general 10% cut in malting barley yield.
