USA: The malting barley index stood at US$2.50 per bushel in North Dakota

The Index of Prices Received for All Farm Products in September in North Dakota was listed at 126 percent of the 1990-1992 base period, compared to 125 percent last month, according to the North Dakota Field Office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service. This is up nine percent from last year and unchanged from two years ago, the Farm and Ranch Guide released October 12.

The All Crops Index is at 126 percent of the base, down three percent from last month, but up 11 percent from a year ago. Standing at 129 percent, the All Livestock and Products Index is 16 percent higher than a month ago and 5 percent higher than the September 2005 figure. The September figures were calculated using preliminary mid-month prices.

The changes in September preliminary commodity prices in North Dakota included: at US$1.70 a bushel feed barley was up 14 cents and malting barley was two pennies higher at US$2.50.
