Canada: CWB announces interim payments for the 2005-06 crop year
The CWB announced November 24 interim payments will be made on feed barley delivered into the 2005 - 06 Pool B.
The interim payment is derived from proceeds on grain in Pool B, which runs from February 1 to July 31. The interim payments for feed barley Pool B are $/t 46 and, for designated barley, $/t 5 (figures in CA$).
The table below shows the initial payment in effect at the end of the 2005-06 crop year, the interim payment and the total to date, basis in-store Vancouver or St. Lawrence, for base grades of barley.
The CWB is investigating the possibilities for combining this interim with the upcoming final payment, with expectations that a combined cheque or direct deposit would go out to farmers on December 15, 2006. A further announcement will be made on this subject.
