E-Malt.com News article: Croatia: Heineken’s Croatian unit completes EUR25 mln investment

The Croatian unit of Dutch brewer Heineken International said on June 6 it has completed a 25 million euro investment ($29 million) plan by launching into trial operation a new beer canning line at its factory in Karlovac, SeeNews reported.

This line is the largest single investment within this investment plan, which was supported by the Croatian government under the investment promotion law, Heineken Hrvatska said in a press release.

The new line has a capacity of 25,000 beer cans per hour, which allows filling up to 1,500 hectolitres of beer per shift, enabling greater production flexibility and faster response to growing consumer demand for canned products, the company said.

The new facility has created 15 new jobs.

The investment plan also included installation of new horizontal and vertical tanks, which increased local production capacity by 36%, the construction of a 2,600 square metre logistics area, and the installation of new air compressors to optimize production processes.
