E-Malt.com News article: Germany: Barley production forecast increased to 9.5 mln tonnes

The association of German farm cooperatives (Deutscher Raiffeisenverband) estimates Germany’s 2012 grain production now higher at 42.8 mln tonnes compared to the previous forecast of 41.5 mln tonnes and the 41.9 mln tonnes produced in 2011.

Wheat production is now expected to reach 22.0 mln tones (21.4 and 22.8 mln tonnes respectively.)

Barley production in 2012 is forecast to amount to 9.5 mln tonnes (9.0; 8.7), including spring barley at 2.8 mln tonnes (2.7; 2.1).
