Brewery news

Florida Avenue Brewing announced its award-winning craft brewery and restaurant has been approved to expand from its original Seminole Heights location into Pasco County's Wesley Chapel, Patch.com reported on November 13.

The new facility, slated to open in late March 2020, will boast 34,000 feet of space, allowing more customers to experience the destination and increase product distribution across the Southeast United States.

"We're thrilled to be growing Florida Avenue Brewing into Pasco County," said Anthony Derby, CEO of Florida Avenue Brewing. "This expansion allows our company to create a distinct and multifaceted destination for beer lovers to gather and enjoy craft brews and high-quality food from one of Florida's oldest and most recognizable brands."

The new location is a refurbishment of a long-closed and abandoned building at 2029 Arrowgrass Drive in Wesley Chapel. Construction will begin in early 2020 and will focus on ensuring the local culture is reflected and preserved throughout the construction process. The space will include a full-service restaurant, tasting room, event space for corporate and musical events, and increased capabilities for product canning and distribution.

"We are happy to welcome Florida Avenue Brewing to Pasco County," said Pasco County Commissioner and Tourist Development Council Chairman Mike Moore. "The new tasting room and restaurant will be a great destination for our residents and tourists alike. I am excited Florida Avenue Brewing has chosen to invest in Pasco County."

The new location will support the local economy by creating 46 local jobs and more than $8.7 million in new capital investments. Like its Tampa counterpart, Florida Avenue Brewing will continue its support of the local community by identifying opportunities to share products and revenue with local charities and causes.
