Brewery news

A prominently located retail space in Orange that has sat empty since the building it occupies was completed several years ago is finally getting built out, the Jersey Digs reported on July 8.

Signage has been installed on the facade of 55 South Essex Avenue across from Orange’s main train station advertising that the Four City Brewing Company is coming soon. Construction is currently wrapping up on the craft brewery, which was founded by Roger Apollon Jr., Jeff Gattens, and Anthony Minervino. It is expected to open its doors later this summer and will be the first brewery in the Essex County city in four decades, according to the Four City website.

The 4,700-square-foot business, named after the four municipalities that make up the Oranges, describes itself as being “dedicated to providing the quality craft beer that discerning beer drinkers have come to expect.”

The developments at 50 and 55 South Essex Avenue were built by L+M Development Partners on properties previously used for industrial purposes. There are currently 72 residential units on the premises.

The news of Four City Brewing Company opening at this L+M development comes as another brewery is in the works for L+M’s Walker House project a few miles to the east in Downtown Newark.
