Canada: CWB says the fight over the barley sales monopoly is far from over
The Canadian Wheat Board says the fight over the barley sales monopoly is far from over, Press News Limited reported March 29.
Board chair Ken Ritter says a legal challenge to the plebiscite could be in the works.
Western Canadian farmers recently voted to end the Canadian Wheat Board's monopoly on barley sales.
One farmer from the Steinbach, Manitoba, says the plebiscite results are good news because he can make more money by selling barley to other groups that perhaps can offer him more money than the Wheat Board.
