Ukraine: Feed barley retained high activity

Feed barley retained high activity, Agro Perspectiva reported May 7. Offers number wasn’t sufficient enough to assure traders export contracts fulfillment, what prompted traders to additionally raise purchase prices by UAH10–30 per MT (what is reasonable taking into account that vessels demurrage cost is much more expensive).

Global market demand/prices slight growth has become one more factor to support feed barley market.

Feed barley exporters purchase prices were UAH950–1030 per MT, CPT port.

Feed barley US$ prices ranged within US$175–185 per MT (FOB)/US$165–175 per MT (CPT port).

As of Apr 1, 2007 Ukrainian grains storage entities had declared in total 7.728 mn MT grains, incl. 3.52 mn MT food grains (as to Ministry of Agrarian Policy data). Grains storage entities had also submitted declarations for 1.58 mn MT barley.
