Arizona barley was 95 percent mature with 40 percent of the acres harvested, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service’s (NASS) Arizona Field Office on June 18, 2007.
Cotton squaring was complete on 50 percent of Arizona’s acreage compared to the 5-year average of 46 Temperatures were above normal in Arizona for the week ending June 17. Temperatures ranged from 1 degree below normal at Paloma to 7 degrees above normal at Prescott. The highest temperature of the week was 110 degrees in Maricopa, Phoenix, and Roll. The lowest reading of 33 degrees occurred at the Grand Canyon.
