Kenya: Dreaded diseases hit barley farms

About 30,000 hectares of barley worth millions of shillings could go to waste this season following an outbreak of the dreaded Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus in the country, experts have warned, East African Standard reported July 3.

The disease has been detected in Narok District, the highest producer of wheat and barley in the country.
