USA: Diageo appoints new National Accounts boss in the US
Diageo, the world's leading alcoholic drinks maker, has appointed Maggie Lapcewich as president, National Accounts, according to Drinks Business Review, July 13.
In this role, Ms Lapcewich will lead Diageo North America's beer, wine and spirits business with large national on and off-premise customers. Ms Lapcewich succeeds Tex McCarthy, who has decided to pursue other opportunities outside the company.
"I believe Maggie's experience and leadership will help take Diageo's National Accounts business to the next level," said Ivan Menezes, president and CEO, Diageo North America. "Maggie has what it takes to build great customer relationships and deliver great business results."
Ms Lapcewich has been with Diageo for 15 years serving in a variety of commercial roles, most recently as the general manager of Diageo's spirits business in Illinois and Indiana, one of Diageo's largest and most important sales regions. In her new role, she will report directly to Larry Schwartz, president, US Spirits, Diageo North America.
"Maggie's ability to develop great customer relationships, combined with her extensive experience in the alcohol beverage industry make her a great choice for this position," said Mr Schwartz.
