UK: Sheperd Neame’s Original Porter returns
Shepherd Neame's Original Porter makes a welcome return on draught from the beginning of December, according to company’s press release, October 22.
A classic "winter warmer", with an abv of 4.8%, Original Porter is a rich full-flavoured beer with an underlying liquorice note and a distinctive fruity spiciness and aroma delivered by Target and Goldings hops grown in Kent.
The English Porter style of beer first became popular in the 18th century with London's river porters, before providing refreshment in the 19th century among the factory workers of the Industrial Revolution.
Original Porter, will be available in selected Shepherd Neame pubs and free trade pubs and bars nationwide until February.
