Ambev, Brazilian brewery has registered a net profit of $0.44m in the first quarter of 2001. Compare to a loss of $0.15m, it is a significant improvement. This increase is a result of lower costs and the rise in sales of 32.2%. The sales were higher this year due to a 6% rise in beer sales volume.
