Netherlands: EU inquiry deadline for Heineken buy of Scottish & Newcastle assets is March 18

The European Commission said its inquiry deadline for Dutch brewer Heineken NV's proposed acquisition of Scottish & Newcastle PLC assets is set for March 18, Thomson Financial reported February 14.

Heineken is acquiring Scottish & Newcastle together with Danish brewer Carlsberg AS for 7.8 bln stg.

The Carlsberg part of the acquisition is the subject of a separate EU inquiry, with a deadline of March 7.
