World: InBev CEO says industry consolidation not over yet, no comment on Anheuser-Busch tie-up

InBev chief executive Carlos Brito said consolidation in the beer industry is 'not over yet' and that the company remains on the lookout for acquisition opportunities, but declined comment on a potential merger with US peer Anheuser-Busch Inc., Thomson Financial reported February 28.

He told reporters: 'Ninety-nine pct of time is dedicated to growing what we have, but our obligation (is) to look (at) what is happening in the outside world.'

Brito said the group continues to discuss its everyday business with Anheuser-Busch in Canada, the US and Korea, but declined specific comment on whether the talks extended to a possible tie-up.
