USA: Boston Beer Co. to invest several million dollars more this year at its Sam Adams Brewery
Boston Beer Co. plans to invest several million dollars more this year at its Sam Adams Brewery in the West End to boost production and efficiency, Business Courier published March 28.
Based on figures in its financial reports this year and last, 2007 output at its Cincinnati brewery would seem to have come in below expectations, although the company said last week there was no shortfall, according to spokeswoman Michelle Sullivan in Boston.
Sullivan said any variance between the brewery's 2007 output and earlier projections was caused by unexpectedly high overall volume growth and changes in product mix related to growing sales of its specialty beers.
The former Hudepohl-Schoenling brewery on Central Parkway is its primary brewery for most of the company's specialty and lower-volume beers.
