India: Cobra Beer appoints Poonam Chandel as Managing Director

Cobra Indian Beer said it has appointed Poonam Chandel as Managing Director of the company, PTI reported April 8.

Poonam joined Cobra Beer in 2006 as Vice-President Sales and Marketing and she quickly rose to the position of Chief Operating Officer, the company said in a statement.

"Poonam has driven the success of Cobra in India over the past two years and has translated the company's plan into success on the ground," Cobra Beer founder and Chief Executive Karan Billimoria said in the statement.

Cobra Indian Beer is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the UK-based Cobra Beer and the company has nine breweries in the country with annual sales of two million cases.
