Canada: CWB to send Pool A barley final payment
Pool A feed barley delivered to the Canadian Wheat Board in the 2007-08 crop year will earn a final payment of $50.78 per tonne, effective June 12, the CWB announced June 13.
Payments will be direct-deposited June 24 or mailed on June 27, the CWB said. Farmers have until June 18 to defer the payment if they wish.
Following initial payments last August of $107 and $102 per tonne for No. 1 and No. 2 Canada Western respectively, followed by adjustment payments worth $23.50 per tonne in October and $100 in November, on top of this final payment, the total payments per tonne equal $281.28 and $276.28 per tonne for No. 1 and No. 2 respectively.
"This final payment represents the balance of the money owing to farmers after their feed barley has been marketed through the CWB, and after operating costs have been deducted," the CWB wrote in a bulletin.
