India: United Breweries allots equity shares via right issue

The board of directors of the United Breweries allotted 2,40,04,825 equity shares of Re 1 each issued at a price of Rs 177 a equity share to all valid application received in the rights issue, Iris reported June 16.

The United Breweries emerged out of demerger of the beer business from the erstwhile United Breweries, which was then renamed United Breweries Holdings. Kingfisher beer is currently available in 52 countries worldwide. It commands a 35% market share among all the beer brands in the country.

Shares of the company closed down Rs 3.2, or 1.89%, at Rs 166.55. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE was 7,738.
