India: Falling net profit of India’s United Breweries

India's United Breweries Holdings Ltd. said first-quarter net profit fell to 88.60 million rupees from 294.60 million rupees year ago, Thomson Financial reported July 24.

The company’s total income for the quarter to end-June decreased to 710.00 million rupees from 1.1 billion rupees.

At 1.54 p.m., United Breweries shares were up 9.84 percent at 307.45 rupees, while the benchmark Sensex was down 1.82 percent at 14,669.91 points.
