Romania: United Romanian Breweries report sales growth of 15% for H1 2008

United Romanian Breweries Bereprod reported 15% higher sales volume for the first half of 2008 compared to the same period of 2007, the Financiarul cited the company’s release on August 13.

Bereprod also posted a rise of 19% in the turnover at the company level. Total investments targeted by URBB for this year amount to €20 million, being directed to logistics, distribution and promotion activities for the products of this company.

“Year 2008 started in force for our company,” Shachar Shaine, URBB and Carlsrom Beverage president, stated.

According to the company, in the first half of this year, the highest growth of the brands in its portfolio was recorded by Tuborg, Holsten and Granini.

URBB is one of the biggest beverage producers on the domestic market, being present both on the beer market and on the one of the soft drinks. The company’s portfolio exclusively includes such international brands as Tuborg, Tuborg Strong, Tuborg Christmas Brew, Holsten, Carlsberg, Skol, Guinness, Kilkenny, Orangina and Granini.
