Turkey opens new opportunities for foreign breweries. The legislation passed in January 2000 terminating the Turkish alcohol monopoly, opens new possibilities.

Foreign breweries can now supply Turkish local wholesalers and/or build up their own distribution network. Before this, only the government-owned monopoly Tekel could sell imported beer
