Australia: ABB to provide third distribution payments for feed and malting barley

Australian barley growers who participated in ABB Grain’s 2007 pools will this week begin receiving up to AU$20/tonne in third distribution payments, ABB announced on November, 10.

These distributions range from AU$20/tonne for malting barley and AU$15/tonne for feed barley in both the harvest and select pools, ABB said.

Grain marketing general manager Peter Jones said growers who chose ABB’s select barley pool received the bulk of their return in mid-April when the first distribution was sent out and again in mid-July with the second distribution.

Mr Jones said the latest distributions for the 2007/8 select and harvest barley pools brought cumulative payments to 94% of estimated grower returns (EGR).

The balance of distributions for malting barley select pool 1 is to be AU$22, for select pool 2 – AU$15, for select pool 3 – AU$15, and for harvest pool – AU$20.

The balance of distributions for feed barley select pool 1 is to be AU$27, for select pool 2 – AU$20, for select pool 3 – AU$13, and for harvest pool – AU$18.
