Australia: No more adjustments to barley receiving standards - CBH
CBH, Western Australia’s grain handler, said it cannot make any further changes to its barley receival standards because consumer confidence in the product is starting to be affected, ABC News reported on November, 25.
According to the company, it has already adjusted its standards to allow through more WA barley, some of which has been damaged by late rains.
But CBH's Colin Tutt says the standards have reached a limit and cannot be stretched any further.
"We need to protect the confidence of customers and we also need to make sure we maintain a reliable and actually consistent malt product for Western Australia," he said.
