EU: Malting barley prices showing stability, interest still limited to the next two crop years
During the last week, the interest of the European market of malting barley was still limited to the 2009/10 and 2010/11 crop years, La Depeche posted on May, 8.
A number of deals have been closed, but the sellers’ prudence did not let the activity expand. Within this context, prices demonstrate certain stability over the week, market participants report.
The EU’s market of feed barley is more active due to more attractive prices as compared to the other cereals. The trade at the moment is concentrated mostly in the north of the EU, and the prices have strengthened, it is reported.
