Swaziland Beverages (SB) said beer sales made the largest contribution to its revenue last year, Swazi Observer posted on May, 12.
SB is 60%-owned by SABMiller.
The remaining 40% belong to Tibiyo TakaNgwane, the company owned by the royal family of Swaziland.
Tibiyo TakaNgwane’s annual report for the past year states that beer brought an increased revenue of 7 %, a substantial increase from the 3% recorded for the previous year.
“Gross profit margin decreased from 45% in 2007 to 43 % in 2008, whilst the profit before tax margin decreased slightly from 20 % in 2007 to 17% in the current year,” reads the report.
