Russia: Banning beer ads from TV, movies and radio unlikely - analysts
Russia’s State Duma wants to scrap all TV beer advertising from TV, radio and movies, Interfax reported on June, 17.
In addition bigger health warnings on print ads and banner displays would be introduced to combat the problems caused by Russia's high alcohol consumption.
However, analysts at CTC Media believe the amendment is unlikely to become law any time soon, owing to a strong lobby from the brewing industry and the government's own pledge to support media and advertising during the current crisis.
