South American brewery giant, AmBev, is to purchase certain assets of the Embotelladora Rivera, expanding its presence in Peru, Datamonitor reported. The company will acquire two plants in Peru through the transaction, which have a capacity of over 6.3 million hectoliters per year. It will also gain distribution assets in Lima.
AmBev stated it wants to exploit Rivera's distribution expertise in the Peruvian market. "This transaction was designed to maximize production, logistics and general & administrative synergies between the beer and the carbonated soft drinks (CSD) businesses. By acquiring Embotelladora Rivera's production assets, AmBev will be able to reap the benefits of scale."
