Germany: Barley offers into intervention reach almost 2 mln tonnes this year
German farmers offered a total 1.828 million tonnes of barley into EU intervention in the subsidy season which closed on May 31, German agricultural agency BLE said on June, 1.
This season's total was up from a marginal 141,000 tonnes the previous year when market prices were higher. All intervention offers this season were for barley with no other grains being offered, it is reported.
