France: Carlsberg’s subsidiary to brew with special barley variety imported from Denmark
Brasseries Kronenbourg, the French division of the Denmark-based Carlsberg Group, will soon start to use a new barley variety of Danish origin in the production of Carlsberg beer, French media reported on July, 8.
The new variety was developed by the company’s research centre and will make it possible for the beer to remain fresh during one year instead of six months, it is reported.
France will be the first country to import that barley variety, sources said.
