Ukraine produced about 13.66 million hl of beer in January-September this year, 12% or with 1.47 million hl more than in January-September last year, Ukrainian state committee for statistics has posted recently. In September Ukrainian brewers increased beer production by 7% up to 1.29 million hl versus September 2002.

In 2002 Ukrainian beer output reached the volume of 14.98 million hl, 14.8% or with 1.93 million hl more than in 2001. Ukrainian beer market is controlled by Sun Interbrew Ukraine, Oboloni, BBH Ukraine, Sarmat and other small breweries. The beer market capacity is evaluated by analysts at 14.5 million hl per year.
