Estonia & Russia: Baltika beer to be distributed by Saku Õlletehas brewery
Estonian brewer Saku Õlletehas has signed an agreement with the Russian beer giant Baltika and will start representing and selling Baltika’s beer brands in Estonia from next year, The Baltic Course reported on November, 17.
The beer to be sold by Saku Õlletehas will be produced by Baltika’s St Petersburg plant.
Saku Õlletehas board chairman Veli Pekka Tennilä said that cooperation with Russia’s biggest brewery was very important. “Primarily it is a sign of trust,” he said.
Baltika’s brands have been sold in Estonia since 2000, accounting for 35% of all imported beer in Estonia last year.
