Japan: Japan buys 6 thousand of Australian malting barley in a tender
Japan bought 13,500 metric tons of food barley from Canada and Australia in a tender held on January, 12, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said in a statement.
Of the total, 7,500 tons was from Canada and the remaining volume was from Australia for beer production, it said.
The tender was held under the so-called simultaneous buy- and-sell system, in which food makers and trading companies jointly bid for grains of any origin and quality.
