Russia: This year’s grain production expected to make possible exports – First Vice Prime-Minister
In 2011, grain production in the Russian Federation may total 85-87 mln tonnes, Victor Zubkov, the First Vice Prime-Minister of the Russian Federation, was quoted as saying on January, 25 by Agrimarket.info.
According to Mr. Zubkov, such production volumes will allow to the country to completely cover all domestic demands in grains, and return to the practice of export grain trading.
In 2010, Russia’s barley crop fell 53% from 2009 to 8.3 mln tonnes. The total grain output was 60.9 million tonnes, a decline of 37.3% from 2009.
