The Netherlands: Heineken in talks to refinance EUR2 bln credit line a year before it’s due
Brewery news

Heineken NV, the world’s third-largest brewer, is in talks with lenders to refinance a 2 billion-euro ($2.8 billion) credit line a year before it’s due, Bloomberg reported on March, 9.

The company plans to replace the revolving credit facility this year, John-Paul Schuirink, a spokesman for the Amsterdam-based company, said.

Heineken’s 2010 net income rose 41 percent to 1.44 billion euros.

Heineken, the maker of Amstel and Newcastle Brown Ale, signed the credit line in 2003 with Barclays Capital, Citigroup Inc., Credit Suisse Group AG and JPMorgan Chase & Co. as book runners, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
