US: Barley planting progress at 80% as of the beginning of this month
As of June 5, barley planting progress was at 80% compared to 79% for the five-year average, Farm & Ranch Guide reported on June, 19.
North Dakota is reporting planted progress at 58% complete compared to 98% for the five year average. Montana has 85% planted compared to 99% for the five-year average. This represents about 405.500 acres unplanted or about 13.7% of the nation's intended barley acres.
As of the end of last week, cash barley bids in Minneapolis for feed barley were $5.15 while malting barley bids were at $7.50.
