US, FL: Bold City Brewery honors Jacksonville Zoo’s rhino with a new beer brand

Jacksonville based Bold City Brewery is unveiling a new beer, called Archie’s Rhino Rye Pale Ale, in honor of the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’s oldest male rhino, Jacksonville Business Journal reported on July, 19.

The new brew on tap, which is brewed at Bold City Brewery in Jacksonville and will be available at restaurants and bars throughout Jacksonville, is a medium bodied pale ale brewed with rye malt.

The Bold City Brewery and the Jacksonville Zoo will host a August 1 release party for Archie’s Rhino Rye Pale Ale at O’Brothers Irish Pub in Riverside, when $1 from every pint of Archie’s Rye Pale Ale sold will be donated to the feeding, care and conservation of the Jacksonville Zoo and Garden’s rhinos.

Archie is a 42-year-old male White Rhinoceros that weighs an estimated 3,000 lbs. He’s been at the Jacksonville Zoo since 1985.
