USA, OR & ID: 10 Barrel Brewing expands into Idaho
10 Barrel Brewing is setting its sights eastward. The Bend-based brewery says it plans to open a brewpub this summer in Boise, Idaho, OPB News reported on January, 4.
Brewmaster Jimmy Seifrit says 10 Barrel wanted to expand into a city that had lots of potential customers, but wasn’t already saturated with breweries. He says in that respect, Boise seemed like the natural choice. But Seifrit says the feel of the city played an equally important role. He says the population is similar to Bend’s, in the way that outdoor recreation tends to fit prominently into people’s lifestyles.
"Boise we thought would be a great avenue for us to continue what we do in Bend, out there," he said.
Boise already has five breweries operating within city limits. The Payette Brewing Company is the latest addition. It opened its doors just last May. Another brewery, Crooked Fence Brewing is scheduled to open for business next month.
