Colombia: Grupo Empresarial Bavaria, the Colombian brewer, officially began the building of a new brewery in the South-east of the country. Situated in the province of Valle de Cauca, the new operation will cost US$55m to complete and will replace an old beer-making facility there. The new brewery will be able to produce double the capacity of the old one, turning out 2.4 million hectolitres a year. Bavaria has made the investment to meet growing demand for beer in that part of the country.
