USA, CA: Central Coast Brewing is serving pints of beer again
Brewery news

Once again, pints are being poured at Central Coast Brewing in San Luis Obispo after a restriction by state regulators was lifted that prevented the business from serving beer in glasses larger than four ounces, SanLuisObispo.com reported on April, 21.

The brewery said it was told Oct. 14 it was in violation of that order, and it stopped serving pints while owners worked with officials to resolve the problem.

“It nearly put us out of business,” said Jim Aaron, director of sales and marketing at Central Coast Brewing.

After a series of setbacks and misunderstandings, the brewery has been approved to resume selling pints.

“It’s been a long fight over whether you can consume four ounces of beer or a pint of beer,” Aaron said. “It’s kind of a silly thing. … People just couldn’t understand how they could come into a brewery and not be allowed to enjoy a pint.”

Back to serving full pints of beer for just a couple of months, the business is already seeing a boost to its bottom line.

“We had the second-best month we’ve ever had in the history of our business,” Aaron said.
