Germany: Grain sales down on year in July 2011 - March 2012

The BLE reports that in Germany 21.9 mln tonnes of grain were purchased by large and medium sized companies in July 2011 - March 2012. This is below the 25.4 mln tonnes reported in the same period of the previous year.

The total includes 13.0 (15.8) mln tonnes of wheat (excluding durum), 1.6 (1.8) mln tonnes of rye, 4.0 (5.1) mln tonnes of barley, including 845,000 (798,000) tonnes of malting barley, 2.5 (1.7) mln tonnes of corn, and 651,000 (768,000) tonnes of triticale.
