USA, IL: Limestone Brewing Co. to open in Aurora

Limestone Brewing Company will open soon in Aurora - owners are just not sure how soon. The popular restaurant and bar left its Plainfield home in March, and hoped to open this month next door to Comedy Shrine on Fox Valley Center Drive, The Beacon – News reported on June, 15.

Owner Jan Isley is anxious to open, but remains cautious before declaring an opening date. Isley, of Naperville, opened Limestone Brewing Company with her husband, Doug, in 2009. She said they were hoping to open sometime in June. Now it could be July, or early August - she hopes.

“It’s new and exciting for us,” she said of the new location.

The new spot features a 5,000-square-foot patio, with an outdoor bar.

Isley said it will take them some time to get up and running as a brewery, but they will start by offering a few of their more popular selections like the Wheatlander, Electric Park Golden Ale and Old Chicago Amber. Several of their beers are named with references to Will County, so the move to DuPage County might bring additional names, but not name changes, Isley assured.

“We were sad to leave Plainfield and our loyal customers,” she said. “I hope they will follow us here.”

She added that they are still working on the build-out at the new location, and are waiting for permits.
