UK: Winter barley harvest almost completed, spring barley area harvested at 40%
About 99% of the UK’s winter barley area had been harvested as of September, 4, HGCA reports. UK yields are expected to be slightly above average at 6.3-6.6 t/ha.
Specific weights of winter barley are reported to be low (averaging 62-64kg/hl).
Spring barley had been harvested on 40% of the UK area.
Current yields variable are ranging from 4.3-7.8 t/ha with UK yield expected to be around average at 5.4 t/ha, HGCA said.
