Ukraine: Miller Brands Ukraine renamed as Efes Ukraine

Shareholders of Miller Brands Ukraine have passed a resolution to rename the company as Efes Ukraine, thus completing the process of integration into international Efes Group, Pivnoe Delo reported on November, 1.

Turkey-based Anadolu Efes has overseas beer operations in Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine and is the Europe’s 5th and world’s 12th greatest beer producer with its total of 18 breweries and 7 malt production facilities, including Turkey.

Besides Efes products consumed in over fifty countries, the group produces over 40 brands, including leader local beer brands.

Efes entered the Ukrainian market in 2012 as a result of a strategic alliance with the world’s second-largest brewer SABMiller plc. Within the deal, Efes got SABMiller’s brewing operations in Ukraine and Russia, whereas SABMiller got a 24% stake in Efes.

Efes Ukraine is one of Ukraine’s top four brewers and has shown the most impressive growth among them in 2012, increasing its production volume by 51.3% this year.
