USA, MN: Quest Brewing Co. to open in Greenville
Brewery news

Quest Brewing Co. will become soon Greenville’s next step in the evolution of its emerging beer culture.

By mid-May, Don Richardson and business partner Andrew Watts expect to be fully online, churning out unique brews and hosting community tastings.

“We’ll brew immediately, but it’s going to take a couple of weeks for the beer to do its magic,” says Richardson, former brewmaster at Cottonwood Brewery and Carolina Beer Co.

Quest will focus on four beers at first: a Belgian Pale, a Smoked Porter, an American-style “hop bomb” IPA and a Coffee Stout.

The brewery’s first seasonal could come by summertime, but if not by then, a fall seasonal will certainly be on the market.

Richardson is taking a particular interest in brewing barrel-aged, Belgian-style sours.

Richardson most recently has been working with his friends at the Athens-based Terrapin Beer Co. and offered first samplings of his brews at Barley’s Greenville’s “Biggest Little Beer Fest.”

“We have an evolved beer market here,” Richardson says. “You’ve got a lot of people with open minds who are looking for more than your mainstream beer.”
