USA, CA: Anchor Brewing Company plans expansion

Anchor Brewing Company plans to expand, and is eyeing a large space in the new Mission Rock development south of San Francisco’s AT&T park, cbslocal.com reported on February, 19.

The company would be the San Francisco Giants’ first tenant for their $1.6 bln project at Mission Rock.

Anchor executives are quoted as saying the expansion would quadruple their output from 120,000 to 600,000 barrels a year. Currently, Anchor makes its beer at a production facility on San Francisco’s Potrero Hill.

San Francisco’s Port Commission is expected to formally consider Anchor’s plans next month and, if approved, construction could begin late next year.
