USA: The boss of Anheuser-Busch, the world’s largest brewer, saw his total compensation package before options jump nearly 11% in 2003, the company said in its proxy filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. President and chief executive Patrick T. Stokes received total compensation of nearly US$5.1m in 2003, compared with nearly US$4.6m in 2002. His base salary went up to US$1.4m in 2003, from just over US$1.3m a year before. Meanwhile he was awarded a bonus of US$3.5m in 2003, compared with US$3.1m in 2002. Stokes’ stock options remained unchanged, receiving nearly 1.4m in 2003, the same amount he received in 2002.
