USA, NY: Shmaltz Brewing Co. to open brewery in Clifton Park
Shmaltz Brewing Co. will open a $3.2 mln brewery in Clifton Park, NY that will employ up to 10 people and produce as many as 20,000 barrels of beer a year, bizjournals.com reported on March, 25.
The 20,000-square-foot, 50-barrel brewing room is under construction.
Brewing operations should start in mid-April, with packaging starting in May or June.
This will be the first time that the Brooklyn-based company has brewed its own labels. Shmaltz makes HE’BREW beer and Coney Island Craft lagers.
Since it was founded 16 years ago, Shmaltz has contracted with Mendocino Brewing Co. of Ukiah, Calif., to brew its beer. Mendocino also owns Olde Saratoga Brewing Co. in Saratoga Springs, where Shmaltz’s beer is currently brewed.
Shmaltz will phase-out brewing at Olde Saratoga Brewing at the same time it phases-in brewing at its new operations.
